Transtint 8 Pc. Primary Color Kit
TransTints® are a solution of metal-complex dyes in a special solvent that offers many unique application options.
In the Primary Color Pack you will receive one 2 oz. bottle of the following colors:
* Water-Based Dye Stain: Mix with tap or distilled water for an economical, non-flammable stain
* Non-Grain Raising Stain: Mix with alcohol for a fast-drying, non-grain raising stain. No waiting or straining is necessary because the dye is pre-dissolved.
* One of TransTint's most unique features is their compatibility with a wide range of finishing mediums. Simply add the dye concentrate directly to shellac, water-base finishes, solvent lacquers, and catalyzed varnish or lacquers. Add any amount up to 1 oz. per quart. All TransTint dye colors are intermixable to produce custom shades.
* TransTint Dyes can be added to some oil-based products. The dye can be added directly to linseed or pure tung oil. To add to oil based varnishes mix 1 part dye with 4 parts acetone before adding to the finish. Do not exceed 2 oz. of this mixture per quart. Shake solution thoroughly before applying to wood. TransTints cannot be added to most of the “Danish†oils or finishes thinned with a high ratio of mineral spirits.
Note: When using any dye or colorant, we highly recommend testing your colors first on scraps or cut-offs along with your selected top coat before applying to your projects. TransTint Dyes are not for exterior use.
