3 Victoreen V-777 Civil Defense Geiger Counter 700 Set
This is a Victoreen Civil Defense model CD V-777 Radiation Detection Set in good condition. These parts are cold-war era government surplus and were last calibrated between 1988 and 1999. We opened the box and the meters are all in good condition inside, having been stored without batteries installed. One of the meters has a steel plate over the crystal and the face of the gauge says Victoreen on it, which is the only one like this we have ever encountered. The parts do have some minor signs of use. The V-700 did make ticking noises into its headset when the probe was brought near the check source, and the needle indicated the presence of low-level radiation at the same time.
* Three Victoreen CD V-700 Radiological Survey Meters with probes, geiger tube, in apparently good working order. Detection ranges are 0-0.5mR/hr, 0-5mR/hr and 0-50mr/hr - these are relatively low levels of Gamma radiation. The geiger tube can be exposed to detect Beta radiation as well. This meter is also made of drawn steel and cast aluminum. The crystal on the indicator may have some cosmetic defects but it is still very useable.
