This is a genuine "Smokey" brand (model is 'Stowaway') high-output 12-volt mechanical siren. *** BRAND NEW! ***
This was a very popular model (called both "Stowaway" & "Hideaway", depending on the year & model series) which we sold in our specialty electronics retail stores (and via mail order) before we retired. I found a few cases of these in warehouse storage and decided to offer them here. This siren is BRAND NEW and 'picture perfect', in it's original (plain) factory box. This compact, high-output siren is factory painted fire-engine red in a show-quality automotive finish ... and it's LOUD! (I made the mistake of testing one at my garage work bench; two neighbors came running!). Low amperage draw (7 amps at maximum output) does not necessarily require a relay circuit or heavy-duty switch (although recommended). Simple 2 wire (12-volt positive & negative) installation. Sturdy, integral mounting plate. We used to sell lots of these to car show people, volunteer fire dept folk, security companies, the yachting and boating crowd, RV owners, mine & plant safety managers, heavy machinery operators, search/rescue folks, high-end security designers/installers and others interested in such things for our store's retail pricing of $129.95. NOTE: This is not an electronic 'siren' that 'sounds' like a mechanical siren .... it's a REAL MECHANICAL SIREN. It's sound is like that of the siren you heard on the General's Jeep on the TV program 'M*A*S*H', on the fire engines in TV programs like 'Green Acres' and 'Emergency' or on the police cars in programs like 'Highway Patrol' and 'Dragnet', etc. It is not electronic like today's police alert systems, but has that rich, loud 'air raid' siren quality. NOT A CONTEMPORARY LAW ENFORCEMENT DEVICE.
