This Service and Operating Manual (Tektronix part number 070-2390-00) covers the Tektronix 7904 Oscilloscope and Options, serial number B260000 and up. It is scanned from the original Tektronix manual. The latest revision is dated 3/15/83. The scans came out well, and the information available in the original manual is available here. These pages are in .PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format, and a distributable version of Acrobat Reader is also on the CD. The Operations Section includes all operations information specific to the 7904 you may need to know, plus a great deal of general info pertaining to oscilloscopes and their use.
Two PDFs of the manual are provided, in two resolutions. One is:
Text with Drawings at 600dpi black and white
Schematics at 600dpi black and white
Text with photos at 600dpi grayscale with contrast adjusted

This resolution looks very nice, but for many purposes uses excessive resources. Allowing marketing hype to limit you to the "very high resolution" files alone is like riding to work every day on a tractor when you could have had the option of using that or a Ferrari. You can copy the large file to the hard drive in an attempt to achieve acceptable performance, but having that be a necessity is certainly of no advantage to you. Therefore, we provide a second scan in less resource-demanding resolutions.
The other scan is done in resolutions that vary depending on individual page content, but are never higher than needed to produce a useable quality, quickly navigable file that will do the job without consuming more time and resources than are needed.
You'll receive the large "very high resolution" or "reproduction quality" file, plus the smaller, faster and often more appropriate text-searchable version. ALL original manual pages are supplied. Some vendors very proudly advertise page counts which are inflated by the addition of extraneous pages and blank pages, which increase their page count and allows them to appear to be supplying a more comprehensive document. Rather than resort to such deceptive practices, we assure you that these manuals are complete, and are scanned in the stated resolutions.
