Master Machine Precision Milling Head
Extreme Duty Master Machine Milling Head. Formerly manufactured by Master Machine Tools, Inc. of Hutchinson, Kansas until being acquired by Setco Sales Co. (click for website) , a subsidiary of Holden Industries (click for website). The bearings are mounted in a replaceable factory supplied cartridge which can be configured for many different load and speed requirements. The condition and remaining life of the bearings in these machine heads is unknown. We have ( 4 ) four Master Machine Heads and ( 4 ) four Master Machine Super 70 Production Slides in our inventory. All important areas were greased prior to storage for rust protection.
Master Machine Head Model BSP5. This is similar to the last catalog item # SP500 w/flange - TMG-FX-TP-3500. All information is provided and taken from the Master Machine Catalog #SPLC93 of 2004. The following was from original purchase records of the specific serial numbered milling heads as follows:
Bearing Code TMG = Triple Ball Front, Medium Preload Duplex Ball Rear, Grease Lube
Housing Style FX = Flange Extended
Operational RPM (dictated by the bearing type) = 3500
Maximum RPM (dictated by the bearing type) = 4440
These Machine heads were mounted in a custom production machine and used to mill clear polymer plastic for their entire production life. Once the slides were adjusted, they were locked in place and never moved except during recalibration of the machine. Better quality pictures pending.
