This is a high quality heat exchanger made of stainless steel with a copper brazing. It will not corrode with normal usage and is guaranteed to last for a life-time.
This is an extremely popular unit for wood burning furnaces, radiant floor systems, refrigerant systems, straight vegetable oil conversions, beer chilling and solar water heating systems. It will work for any application in which the desired result is for two fluids (liquid or gas) to exchange heat.
Warranty: You are protected by a life-time warranty against manufacturer's defects with normal usage. (Does not include usual corrosion) These units are welded professionally and will take a long time to corrode unless fluids with extreme pH levels are used (not considered normal usage if such fluids are used). Salt water tends to corrode any metal a lot faster than regular water. Such usage requires constant cleaning to ensure a long lasting unit.
.023 m^2/plate (.24 ft^2/plate)
3.0 Mpa to 4.5 Mpa (435 psi to 650 psi)
4.5 Mpa to 6.0 Mpa (650 psi to 870 psi)
-195 ℃ ~+220 ℃ (-319 F - 430 F)
F1-F3 and F2-F4 (see diag above)
Very resistant. Will resist rust for a long time with normal pH levels
and regular water. (Salt water and very hard water will corrode over time)
316L Stainless Steel (9% better heat transfer than 304)

Fluid A passes from the port on the left of the heat exchanger through every other channel created by the plates to the opposite end port on the left of the heat exchanger (looking at it the long way). Fluid B passes from the port on the right through the other channels created by the plates and comes out the other port on the right side. The fluids are essentially touching each other through the plates and heat is transferred from the hot fluid to the cold fluid. (but the fluids do not mix)
When determining your heat exchanger size and number of plates there are a few things to consider. A long heat exchanger will be most efficient as it allows more time for heat to flow from the hot to the cold. An infinitely long heat exchanger would theoretically take all possible heat from the hot to the cold and they would exit at the same temperature.
The number of plates you have allows a higher capacity of fluid at one time. You would want to have a heat exchanger with many plates if you had a high flow rate and be able to transfer heat effectively. The faster your fluid moves, the less heat is transferred. So if you are pumping a lot of fluid really fast, more plates will allow for more heat transfer.
There are many things to consider when choosing length and # of plates. The greatest reason to have a long heat exchanger is when you are doing only a single pass with your fluid. If you are only doing a single pass, the fluid only gets one chance to heat up. So you should allow it as much time in the heat exchanger as possible to acquire that heat. However, on the other side of things, if you are doing a multi-pass (heating a tank) you could use several plates instead just to handle a higher flow rate.
Time. This is the other key factor to consider when choosing length and # of plates. The smaller your heat exchanger, the longer it takes to heat your fluid. Even when using several passes, it can still take a long time to heat the fluid especially if you are heating large volumes of liquid. Why? Because the heat leaks out of that container as you are heating the fluid in the heat exchanger.
Ultimately, the bigger the heat exchanger the faster your heat transfer is and the less energy you spend on pumping the fluid and the less energy you lose to your surrounding system. When you have plans for long-term usage, the question becomes "Do i pay now, or do I pay later." With paying now being the cost of a large heat exchanger and the later being the energy put into the system to do the job with a smaller heat exchanger.
