This item is the sensor for measuring pressure in an evacuated vessel. The sensor is designed to measure pressures between 0.001 Torr (1 micron Mercury, 1 milliTorr, 0.133 Pascals) and 1 Torr (1 millimeter Mercury, 1000 milliTorr, 133 Pascals). These tubes are usually used to monitor roughing pump performance, dewar vacuum, sputtering and vacuum deposition vacuum (as an indicator of when it is OK to turn on the diffusion pump). The vacuum connection is via a 1/8 inch NPT tube. The electical connector is a standard octal socket (electron tube). The sensor is designed for use with a VT-6, CVT16/26, HPM 4/6. You can make your own readout instrument to match this tube. It is easily done. See other store items in the Plans category for designs, parts kits and complete units.
