Graco drain valve many models airless paint sprayer

This is a drain valve, minus the black plastic handle and black plastic cam below it. This is manufactured to replace Graco part number 235-014. This is also known as the prime / spray valve, found on "ST" models and Ultra / Ultimate 600 units.
The most common way that these go bad is when the knob starts to get hard to turn back and forth. At some time, the valve will start to leak at high pressure...check for fluid leaking back out of the return tube while knob is in the spray position.
Sometimes these can be cleaned and lubricated instead of replaced..but there are a couple of tricky things to watch for:
The knob comes off by pushing thru the keeper pin..only visible when the paint is totally cleaned off the outside of the knob.
Both the plastic pieces, the knob and the cam beneath it will fall off after the pin is removed. Note that the cam piece has a small pin on it to position it and keep it from rotating.
Clean out the hole the drain valve was removed from. It's best to actually cycle the pump and have it force clean water through the hole to make sure that all dried paint and junk has been pushed through and will not re-clog any newly installed valve.
Separate the two metal pieces of the drain valve. Check that the spring is not broke. Check the ball seat on the end of the stem for smoothness. I clean it and them examine it with a magnifying glass. If OK, finish cleaning and then fill with grease and reassemble the two pieces. Install the seat (previously set aside) and carefully "grease glue" the seal back to the end. It may not fit flush to the end on the cleaned valve and be careful to have it properly positioned when reinstalling. If the spring was broke or the needle ball was rough, you will need a new valve.
