GM-70 is Power Triode, made in Russia in city Ulyanovsk. Designed by Svetlana factory in St.Petersburg,Russia 50 years old. It has an underground audiophile following especially in Japan. The tubes can be used instead of 845 triodes but they require higher filament voltage (20 V) and different socket. I’ve hear a single ended amplifier with the tubes and the sound is magnificent smooth and very powerful (about 50 W per channel). The bass is not to be heard from any other SE amplifier. They are very good choice to use instead of very expensive vintage RCA 845 or junk Chinese 845, just use the different socket and filament voltage. The build quality is awesome.
Contacts are coated with gold. Ideal and stable contact. The complete absence of hums, distortions and cracklings of oxidated contacts. Does not any cleaning and flush. Long-lived as Egyptian pyramids or the gold treasures. The build quality is awesome!

Exists a marketing advertising about some advantage old technologies GM-70 tubes (before 1959y.) with the copper anode. But it is a bluff. Look that use in a commercial Hi-End amplifiers: http:// /superioraudio/equipment/0707/dehavilland_gm70.htm
These expensive amplifiers have the price allowing to apply any copper or gold anode even :-)) But they use modern GM-70 because graphite is better.It has more porous structure of a surface and allows to have plus 25-40 % area of electron absorption and according allow more power.Also this is chemically neutral material not making any gases.Graphite anode is more stable and tube have twice live time. More modern graphite anode triodes have a ideal linearity and sound is very clean.
