This is 12 Volt Delay Timer for mobile applications where there is a need to delay the turn-on of a device such as a 2way radio during vehicle start-up.
Starting transients are destructive to many microprocessor driven devices. The delay Timer prevents these transients from corrupting processor memory by holding off the power delivered to the radio or other device for a period of 5 seconds. This is enough time for the vehicle to start and battery voltage to stabilize.
The Delay Timer also has a programmable Turn-Off feature that allows the radio or other device to stay on after the vehicle ignition has been turned off. This can be used when GPS or Horn Alert is required when the vehicle is left unattended. This period can be programmed for 1,2,4,or 8 hours.
Prevent dead batteries because a radio was left turned on - this unit will control radio turn on & off.
This unit will control up to 30 Amps of supply current at 14.5 volts.
An optional circuit with-in the Delay Timer is for controlling GPS triggering. Many systems require the radio to trigger GPS updates. These are normally based on a preset time programmed into the radio. Although this works fine, airtime can become congested if many radios update on a timed basis. The Delay Timer has a dynamic GPS trigger based on 3 vehicle conditions. These are 1)Ignition off, 2)ignition on/vehicle in neutral, 3) ignition on/vehicle moving. GPS triggering can be set for less updates when not required, such as when the vehicle is not moving.
Dipswitch programmable Turn-off delay (1,2,4,8 hrs)
Dynamic GPS Trigger (set for 3, 12, 24 minute intervals) but other periods can be pre-programmed at time of order.
