The Insulation section tells us that " ASBESTOS is used in about the same forms as cotton, although varnished ASBESTOS cloth is produced in limited quantities for special applications. ASBESTOS cloths & tapes are bulky and are not suitable for close wrapping; they are used, together with ASBESTOS -covered magnet wire, where high-temperature contions are encountered as in Class B systems."
