Super Seal Premium Installation Instructions
Cliplight SUPER SEAL PREMIUM seals leaks fast and is designed for easy and speedy installation by professional technicians. Larger leaks where the refrigerant is totally lost within two weeks may need component replacement.
The vacuum packed can contains a moisture-activated formulation that hardens to form a permanent seal at the leak point(s) in condensers, evaporators, accumulators, metal lines, and compressor flanges. The formulation also contains conditioners and sealers that penetrate and rejuvenate the o-rings, gaskets, hoses and other rubber/polymer components of the a/c system combined with a drying agent to eliminate moisture in the system.
Pressure, heat, and the absence of significant moisture inside the air conditioning system prevents the sealant from hardening until it leaks out.
Super Seal Premium remains in the system on alert for future leaks and is ideal as part of a preventative maintenance program.
DO NOT USE ON HERMETICALLY SEALED SYSTEMS
Important: Due to the possibility of high levels of moisture in the a/c system, the receiver dryer or accumulator (if fitted) MUST be replaced to be in compliance with the warranty provisions. Note: Should a vendor supplied replacement dryer be delivered without caps on the ports, DO NOT ACCEPT IT! It can already be contaminated with moisture!
1. Recover refrigerant in the a/c system.
2. Vacuum a/c system for 5 minutes only. Caution: If you cannot reach 25†vacuum within 5 minutes and hold above 23†for 5 minutes, there may be a single hole too large for Super Seal Premium™ to repair. Alternatively, there may be an equal area of smaller holes that Super Seal Premium™ can repair. The use of nitrogen can be a more positive method of leak intensity detection (see hints and tips).
4. Turn handle (A) ccw until the pierce pin (B) is below washer.
5. Carefully screw the can (C) onto tap hose (B).
6. Remove low side vacuum service hose and attach tap hose (D) to low-side port. Note: For R12 or R22 a/c systems, temporarily install a low side R134a retrofit fitting (Cliplight part #20125) to the R12/R22 low side port. Make sure coupling is locked in place (pull on hose).
7. Continue to draw vacuum for 1 minute to eliminate air in tap hose.
8. Remove the tap hose (D) from the low side service port.
9. Recharge the a/c system to specifications.
10. Turn on a/c and start engine, make sure compressor is engaging. Always check system low/high pressures before using Super Seal Premiumâ„¢.
11. Stop engine and re-attach hose (D) to the low side service port. Make sure coupling is locked in place (pull on hose).
12. Turn handle (A) cw until it stops.
14. Turn handle (A) cw to close the valve.
15. Start engine with the a/c system on, compressor must be engaged!
17. Remove and dispose of tap hose: do not reuse.
18. Run a/c system for at least 20 minutes to allow Super Seal Premiumâ„¢ to circulate. If vent temperatures are acceptable with low/high pressures normal, install Click Locksâ„¢ (E) and record serial numbers for warranty compliance.
