Best lock 1E7J4 high security cylinder & core
This is a used Best Lock high security cylinder, Model 1E7J4. This patented cylinder was designed for high security applications and provides additional strength through a hardened stainless steel alloy ring, face and key disk. The design of this cylinder provides extra protection from tampering for the core.
This special cylinder is listed by Underwriters Laboratories as meeting UL 437 standard for key locks. The cylinder also conforms to ANSI A156.5 mortise cylinder, grade 1A. The cam is stamped C258.
This cylinder requires the use of the Best special 5C interchangeable core, which is included. The 7 pin core features the A keyway. It also includes special, longer Best keys, two originals of which will be included (operator and control). The diameter of the cylinder is 1 5/32 inches. Its mounting length is 1 1/16 inches. The finish is 630 (nickle plated satin stainless steel material).
Also included is a high security cylinder ring, which is machined from stainless steel, hardened and nickle plated. The ring is wrench resistant and requires a door preparation hole diameter of 1 3/4 inches.
This cylinder has very minor storage-related tarnishing. (Note! The lock shown in the photo is a generic photo. The lock being sold has much less tarnishing.)
