Magnetic parts and tools dish 6" dia. auto shop welding
Here's another handy tool for auto mechanics, welders, hobbyists or just about anyone who disassembles things and tries to keep track of the parts for reassembly! This is a 6-inch diameter magnetic parts dish to hold screw, nuts bolts, and even some tools. The strong magnet on the bottom of the dish not only allows the dish to stick to an iron or steel surface (such as a fender well, metal air filter housing, metal bench leg, etc.) but it also induces a magnetic field inside the dish that's strong enough to hold, for example, the items you see in the picture, including the 3/8-inch drive ratchet (which has a 11-inch long handle!).
Note that the picture shows the dish stuck to a metal garage service door, vertically!. Imagine how well it'll stick to a horizontal surface. That's a Snap-on ratchet, which is no lightweight tool, either. I changed the timing belt in our small truck recently, and found this very handy for all the cover bolts and so on, since I could position the dish on just about any metal surface within reach without worrying that the parts would fall out. The dish itself is stainless steel, so it won't rust. This really helps prevent the loss of parts and tools.
