This is from the 'Why didn't I get one of these earlier?' department: a terrific magnet-mount MIG gun holder that will stick to steel and iron, like your welding table or that cart you have your MIG or TIG welder sitting on. I've even stuck this thing to the cabinet on my welder itself, and an old truck body while I worked on the vehicle. It keeps the MIG gun from laying around on the ground and getting dirty, stepped on or worse. When the gun is hot, this helps it cool down faster since it is able to get air around it completely.
Tired of trying to locate your MIG gun while working under a vehicle? Try this. It sure makes it easier to grab the MIG gun while you're masked, and it allows the gun to cool down a lot sooner. You'll be less likely to drop the gun and cause damage to the nozzle, tip, or trigger as well.
The magnet is about 4 inches in diameter and quite strong, and due to the weight of the magnet, it'll set well on even those non-magnetic surfaces (that's CARPET over a WOOD bench in the picture). I've set one of the guns I use on an axle UNDER a car when using the welder. This will stick well, even to rusted or odd-shaped parts. I've found that the holder doesn't have to be stuck in the normal position to work; I have had it sticking out sideways from a vertical metal surface and hung the MIG gun on it with no problems.
