Meets and exceeds NFPA 1951: Standard on Protective Ensemble for USAR Operations, 2001 Edition. Provides protection from flash fire, common chemicals including battery acid, gasoline, hydraulic fluid, ARFF foam, and others as well as blood and body fluids in accordance with the NFPA 1951 Standard.
Drop Shoulder Design/ Contoured 2-Piece Sleeves
Shoulder seam is moved out beyond the shoulder allowing you to comfortably reach and stretch. Also prevents the coat from riding up when you raise your arms. Ergonomically curved sleeve follows the natural shape of your arm to work with you – not against you.
Lower cargo pockets with 2 expansion pleats have integral handwarmer pockets set behind. Bellows radio pocket is on left chest. An inside security pocket keeps contents dry.
Collar zips up to the top for weather protection or lays down flat for ventilation. Constructed from 2 layers of Outer Shell fabric plus a layer of protective CROSSTECH® S/R fabric.
An extra layer of outer shell fabric provides additional padding, protection, and durability for this high abrasion area.
Double storm flaps secured by hook & loop fastener cover a heavy-duty Vislon® zipper for complete waterproof integrity.
Flame Resistant Outer Shell Fabric
NOMEX, treated with a Super Shelltiteâ„¢ durable water repellent finish for weather and stain resistance.
Flame-resistant CROSSTECH® S/R Fabric Lining
Specialized CROSSTECH® S/R fabric is an intimate bi-component membrane consisting of an expanded PTFE impregnated with a hydrophilic compound, and laminated to flame-resistant NOMEX® IIIA woven pajama check fabric. CROSSTECH® S/R fabric is flame-resistant, highly breathable, resistant to blood, body fluids and common chemicals and is waterproof. This is the most comfortable, protective and durable waterproof-breathable barrier available for technical rescue gear.
*NFPA defined “common chemicals”: Battery acid (37% sulfuric), gasoline (ASTM Ref. Fuel C), hydraulic fluid (phosphate-ester), aqueous film-forming foam (ARFF) and swimming pool chlorine solution (65% free CI).
