Now, I’m only an end-user not an engineer, but what I can tell you about this tool, is that I made it on a CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) milling machine from 304 Stainless Steel, which means it won't rust. The Crimping end is the proper ASTM diameter that you will find necessary for 3/4" & 1/2" copper crimp rings, or the branded "Pex" all copper rings for sale at Menards, Home Depot, ect… It is fast and easy to use, a lot like crimping an electrical connector and its easy because of the 18-1/2" handles. The overall length is just over 24", giving the leverage advantage to the operator. This is a great tool for those of you building or installing outdoor wood or corn boilers, or anyone putting in a home water system using 3/4" & 1/2" Pex crimp lines. I made the end of it narrow, and slightly longer than the average Crimp Tool, to allow you to get at those hard to reach spots to crimp.
