The LifeCender™ FLC-40 HD (heavy duty) contains 40' of Technora rope that exceeds a minimum tensile strength of more than 5,000 lbs. and will withstand temperatures in excess of 400° F. The rope is made of a para-aramid fibre similar to Kevlar and is stronger than stainless steel cable of the same thickness. The FLC-40 HD includes a speed control knob that allows you to slow or stop your descent. There is 15' of additional rope outside the descender that can be used to tie to an anchor point.
The systems comes in a handy fire resistant fabric storage/carrying pouch that helps keep the system clean and dry. The FLC-40 HD weighs less than 4 lbs. and can easily be carried in your bunker gear.
The device attaches to a Kevlar safety belt (not included)
