Cwmi pin router 8R - 5HP 3PH - scmi R8 rockwell
CWMI Pin Router. Looks to be a twin of the Rockwell/SCMI R8 or the current Grizzly G9981. 5hp, 3-phase motor. I bought it from a cabinet maker who had upgraded to a CNC rig. I was intending to use it to build guitars at the hobbyist level, but I only have single phase power in my shop, and I've discovered that it's pretty expensive to get a phase converter or VFD for a 5hp motor! I thought about putting a smaller 1ph motor in it, but I'm no engineer and don't want to screw something up. This thing is an absolute monster, weighing at least 1,000lbs! The cast iron table is big enough for most any project.
Note: Although it's not shown in the picture, I do have the brake lever that is used to stop the belt pulley quickly for faster bit changes and adjustments.
